The International Summer School will be devoted to provide a practical multi-disciplinary framework for the issues listed below:

current developments in land administration and cadastre
 
new technologies in data acquisition and data integration (including GPS, satellite and aerial remote sensing and data mining), laser scanning
 
technical details of developments in GI databases, shift of functions from applications level to DB-level (transformations, XML-interfaces etc.)
 
concepts of Open GI Systems and interoperability
 
technical issues of OpenGIS, such as spatial referencing, metadata, standards and databases, such as spatial referencing, metadata, standards and databases
 
the skills to use OpenGIS software, (e.g. GeoMedia and ArcGIS)
 
multi-purpose use of Land Cadastre, EU-EULIS project
 
geo-information management related to nature reserves, EU-INSPIRE
 
monitoring of internationally protected sites and detection of changes
 
remote sensing and laser scanning for data acquisition
 
special issues of interaction between wetlands and the surrounding areas; use of dynamic process models (e.g. hydr. models) and GIS
