The International Summer School in GIS will be organised by the College of GeoInformatics (GEO) at the University of West Hungary, with support from the International Institute for Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC, NL) and the University of Agriculture (BOKU, AT) with the collaboration of the leading GIS and land management experts.GISS is co-ordinated with the European Masters in Geographical Information Science (EMGISc) ERASMUS project.

Venue: Székesfehérvár (Alba Regia - the town, where the Hungarian kings were crowned) is a nice, historical town with dynamic changes in the last decades. The distance from Budapest is 60 km and Lake Balaton is only 40 km away. The study area is the catchment area of Lake Velence. Prerequisites: minimum of two years of study at a university in a GI-related course, min. 10 ECTS credits of GI classes or equivalent study load, Windows experience, practical experience with any GI software products.
