Dr. Béla Márkus és Dr. Tamás Jancsó spent one week official visit in China. During the visit they carried out co-operation discussions in Beijing at the Institute of Remote Sensing Applications belonging to the Chinese Academy of Sciences (IRSA CAS) and at the Institute of Eco-environment Center (CAS). The main goal of the visit was to evaluate the three-year bilateral scientific co-operation and to find new possibilities in co-operation with the Fujian Normal University (FNU) located in Fuzhou. The dean of UWH GEO and the rector of FNU decided to continue the bilateral program. Also a new project proposal in the EU Asia-Link program was met by both sides which was proposed and prepared by the vice-dean of UWH GEO, Dr. Tamás Jancsó.

The FNU was founded in 1907 and its operation has been extending rapidly. In the last three years the full time education (BSc) of 30 000 students was removed to the new campus, a new sport arena was built and the new headquarter will be opened soon officially as well.
